HISTORY OF THE DUANE ALLMAN 1957 GIBSON GOLDTOP
Duane purchased the original 1957 Gibson Goldtop Les Paul with no pick guard & two PAF humbucker pickups in 1969. It was used live & on the ABB 1969 debut & 1970 Idlewild South albums. As a session musician Duane reportedly played this guitar on 1969 – 1970 seminal recordings with Boz Scaggs, Aretha Franklin, Wilson Pickett, Ronnie Hawkins, Johnny Jenkins, Lulu, John Hammond, Delaney & Bonnie & the Derek & the Dominos historic Layla album.
